Phooey. I failed in my first goal. I didn't make it to 30,000 words last week, or even 25,000. I finished with a paltry 20,000 total done on my novel. However, that does put me at around 1/7th done (assuming a goal of somewhere betwix 125,000 and 150,000 words) with the first draft.

So, I must reevaluate my goals for this week. I will have only some time to do some writing today, but doubtful that any will be done tuesday and wednesday, as the holiday looks to dominate my life. Thursday, I have to get on top of some previously work that I committed to, and maybe even friday. That basically leaves me with a total of maybe three and a half days worth of writing time, if I fit in some writing in the cracks.

I accomplished about 10,000 words for my first week back on writing. A decent enough advancement, which would find me finished with the first draft in about three months (at the same rate). Despite my lean time this week, I'm going to set another goal of 10,000 words. This would surpass my first week in writing to time ratio. After that, however, my goals need to step it up by over double.

So, 10,000 words more between now and this sunday evening.
